Google Street View zeigt bei der Straßenkreuzung in der Bernau (node/240083238) Wanderwegtafeln des ÖTK nach Nordwesten Richtung Stollberg (relation/3647998) an, auf denen auch "Gföhlberg" (sichtlich nachträglich eingefügt) geschrieben steht. Alles sieht man aber leider nicht (tw. Laubblätter davor). Noch markanter ist das auf Street View hier: node/248067714. Wirkt für mich so, als würde der ÖTK-Weg von der Bernau auf den Gföhlberg nun also westlich herum (Ederhof, Unter-/Oberholzhof) gehen. Sorry, falls das eh schon allen bekannt wäre.

Ähm, den Namen "Altes Maurer Schloss" hast durchaus Du ergänzt vor 4 Jahren, mit genau diesem changeset/92994893. Vorher stand da Mauerlahn-Schlössel, und auch später dann auch wieder. Wenn Du nicht weißt, wo es herkam, kann es aus dzt. alt_name weg, oder?

At least https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/SRTM-Daten says that both snow or glaciers and ice clouds may create wrong radar results. This probably affects both SRTM and altimeter data, doesn't it?

I just saw that many (not all of) the holes are similar between OSM CyclOSM and Tracestrack Topo. For me, this points to a common cause.

P.5678m: sorry, I don't understand well: do you mean that the prominence (40m) is too little for a peak to be mapped in the first place or that the position on OSM is not the same as on FinnMaps? If the latter, where should it go? I just checked on peakbagger, and the error seems to be <30m.
Altimeter radar: I'm not experienced with the technology, but for me, the scattered holes especially further south / southeast don't seem to be associated with particularly steep terrain.

As regards the P.5678m, the DEM is generally quite faulty in this area. Note the 200m deep hole east of P.5678m and south of P.5980m (and many smaller holes further south). P.5678m is indeed much sharper than the DEM makes us assume. You can see that also in the other aerial views you can load into peakbagger.

I agree that the position and elevation of sharp Himalaya peaks remain with some uncertainty. Tracestrack Topo has indeed better DEM data than the SRTM data, but it is still far from being more precise than FinnMaps. When I was mapping peaks recently, I tried to find an "average" position between the various aerial photographs, FinnMaps and DEM. Usually I omitted sources if there was obvious significant distortion or DEM error (the latter often results from clouds during the DEM mapping).
Anyways, me first reason for asking was about a probable error of several 10s of kms due to a peak mismatch. This was not because of minor measurement uncertainties.

Ah, I think I found the right map: https://maps.lib.utexas.edu/maps/ams/india/nh-44-11.jpg (U.S. Army Map Service AMS, not India Joint Operations Graphic Series JOG). The terrain information from the AMS map is terrible in this area, compared to the JOG map or more recent maps. AMS valleys run over real ridges etc. By the way, on https://maps.lib.utexas.edu/maps/ams/india/nh-44-12.jpg, Kande Hiunchuli (in western Kanjiroba Himal) is also called "Sisne Himal", probably because they mixed it up with Hiūnchuli Pātan in that Sisne Himal which is situated west of Dhaulagiri Himal.
I'd suggest omitting the AMS data completely.

Unfortunately, I cannot find a Sisne and / or 6032m peak on http://maps.lib.utexas.edu/maps/jog/india/nh-44-11-jumla-nepal-china.pdf
I only find the peak 5852m there (node/3380368710, few km to the SE), and peak 5864m (node/3380368925, few km to the NW). So the puzzle remains unsolved?

Sorry, I mismatched two peaks in FinnMaps - the peak you named Sisne has elevation 5973m there, and the north-east neighbour is untagged.

Where do you have the name "Sisne" and its elevation for node/3379901668 from? I'm only aware of a rural municipality and a himal called Sisne, which are both west of Dhaulagiri (way/1354684537, relation/10494404). In FinnMaps, the peak you call Sisne is neither named nor has it an elevation (which is peculiar, since it is one of the highest around), but it may be close to 6000m.
