The gate is always closed, so it needs the following tags to avoid routing through this road:

barrier=gate
access=no

Hi Nick, thank you for updating the map with the closure. Usually we'll keep the connection but change the "access" of the path to prohibit routing.

Great Highway was previously tagged as highway=primary as recently as 1y ago, before it was changed to cycleway. changeset/87757002

Should we change it back to primary?

Full comment was supposed to say something like "Although bikes are permitted, it's still dangerous, but I believe it's the role of the routing logic to see the speed limit and road type. For map features we should label them based on what is in the imagery."
