I stand corrected! It appears temporary closures are appropriate to add to OSM, but only by using the proper conditional restrictions.
Do you have an estimate for when the roads will be open again? If so, I could add the closure back again. Or you can, if you wish.

I'm afraid GPS apps using OSM won't update in time anyway, so adding the closure here would do little good - it only makes the GPS apps inaccurate once they finally do update. But by that time, the closure is probably long gone.

I believe the general consensus is that edits should be accurate for at least 3-6 months. I don't think fires usually last that long.

I think I misunderstood how Pic4Review works, and therefore entered erroneous information. I didn't realize that the path(s) visible in the pictures aren't necessarily those that are part of the quests. Feel free to revert this changeset back. And the same goes for the other changeset you commented on.

What exactly is this? It looks like you forgot to add a top level tag which describes what kind of object this is.
Also, is this a public location? If not, then we would generally advise against adding it to OSM.
