The parking aisles in Joyce lot were closed temporarily for construction and should have been tagged with highway=construction rather than deleted. They are currently reopened. Please revert these deletions.

Hi zluukzki,
I see your point but I would counter: Per the wiki (railway=abandoned) this tag is to be used when there are remaining infrastructural features such as sleepers, signals, and signage, none of which remain on this route. In some places the legal right of way has been vacated to adjacent property owners per county records. Apart from one remaining bridge across Potato Creek, the only physical remnant of the route is the embankment. As a compromise I've changed some of these ways to embankments where applicable (changeset #145668434), but the railway route does not exist anymore as such and I believe should be mapped on OpenHistoricalMaps.

Fair point - my thought here wasn't just whether they were private or public but also character of the street and priority in the road network. I think to your point Irish Crossings Lane could be considered a residential street due to its look and character. Contrast to Irish Way (17561666), for instance, it essentially functions as a named parking aisle and should not be routed through over Dunn Rd and Willis St.

Hi, per the OSM wiki good practices it's recommended not to map features that no longer exist, which includes a good portion of these abandoned railways (for example, the demolished railyard in South Bend that was once bounded by Indiana, Franklin, Ewing, and Main streets). For consistency and cleanliness of the map I'd like to request removal of the railways that have been demolished and/or are no longer visible. Thank you!
