Hi, I suggest that the tag "smoothness" (smoothness=*) with "surface" would be useful for flagging roads by condition (implemented in changeset/42955691).

The main reason I rarely go off secondary for provincial roads is because the Greek law says it is provincial road, which is beyond my control. However, I can compensate with the use of "smoothness" and "surface".

The financial crisis means that I have to give flexibility to the authorities because they struggle to maintain them.

Hi, "Neo" is too vague for a changeset comment. Please be more specific. Also, it is standard with very limited exceptions to tag provincial roads as secondary as long as vehicles can use it: see osm.wiki/Provincial_roads_in_Greece

Simple notes like "Road classifications updated according to OKXE" or "Landuse and local roads added" will do perfectly fine. Many experienced mappers like me and woodpeck (@woodpeck/history) do that.

This is quite a big changeset, but where are the changeset comments? Otherwise, we don't know the reason for it.

Also, another bridge had its layer values corrected, and the one way roads with "-1" were reversed to match the actual direction.

The ways relating to the ORR were created jointly with Bing and MapBox as the main imagery, as well as my existing personal knowledge that the bikes are banned for obvious reasons: these are openly available on JOSM, but you can help me improve it further because there is a backlog of unmapped roads in the area.

I am an editor on Wikipedia and I have done my own research to find the news stories that pin-point the opening dates of each section of the ORR. I decided to share my findings (see relevant references there) on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outer_Ring_Road,_Hyderabad#Opening_timeline because I feel that my research into the evolution of the ORR be public knowledge.

As a courtesy I would take back the word "vandalism" and apologise for using the wrong term, but Hyderabad is a big city so a deletion like this could easily cause a scare.

Okay, this changeset was just pure vandalism and I had to revert it in the public interest and alert the DWG about this: I mean, this changeset just deleted everything and added nothing new (the same goes for changeset/41252240, changeset/41251897 and changeset/41251787). I mean, what do you have against us?

What I was trying to say is usually (in many countries), classified roads determines the status, with very limited exceptions (e.g. totally impassable or no cars in Hydra). Then, because a lot of new roads in Greece are unclassified, connecting roads are tagged according to their overall condition between two points (e.g. settlements, junctions). it is never my intention that the classification changes every time the layout changes: that just makes the whole thing confusing for the navigation systems that depend on us.

nikospag, I'd like to point out that we should not spread National roads over more than two classes, to reduce confusion. What is currently mapped as ΕΟ44β is actually Boeotia ΕΠ34 (the latest data for the two units is from 1955), while the A11 follows the ΕΟ44β.
