You could have used alt_name or official_name or any one of the other name variant tags (name=*#Variants) so that each ground could be tagged with *both* names rather than the one you were searching for. Other people may search for the sponsor name. The name of something on OSM should match how it’s signposted on the ground: name=*#Values

Super, thanks :) (For anyone reading this afterwards, the extra kissing gate was removed in changeset/153971347)
Heya! There’s already a kissing gate mapped just a few metres west of this one. Are there actually two, or do the two mapped ones need to be combined somehow. Ta :)

| 152889219 | Thank you! There are still 6 gates marked as locked=yes while being on a public footpath, in the query which JassKurn put together above (https://overpass-turbo.eu/s/1Nb7). Would you be able to verify the status of those gates too please? They may also be causing routing issues. For ease of future reference, those two nodes were fixed in:

Heya, thanks for adding this detail around the Ulverston channel. What was the source of the data? I ask because mapping the rocks as rectangular areas seems a bit unnatural, and if I look at Bing imagery, rocks like Sea Wood Scar actually look like a single rock 150m away from the area that you’ve mapped. Am I looking at the right thing? Thanks
Please don’t turn every meadow/wood/area into a multipolygon, it makes things a nightmare to edit in future
Reverted as changeset/153735719
I think this is a service road, not a track. It’s regularly used for vehicular access to the YHA and the hut, by cars rather than agricultural vehicles.
Hi, I’ve had to revert these changes (as changeset/153666298) as they muddled all the shop nodes up so that the phone numbers and other tagging no longer matched the addresses or shop details. If you’re going to update shops (which is appreciated), please leave the house numbers and shop node positions unchanged. Consider using a tool like https://streetcomplete.app/ to help you. Thanks.
Reverted as changeset/153666079 since it deleted so many things without giving a reason.
Why do you keep deleting gates?
This would be better off split into multiple changesets, e.g. one per note, so you can actually document your decision making in the changeset comments. OSM edits which cover a large geographical area are hard for others to review. See osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets Thanks
Welcome to OSM. If you’re going to add lots of houses, please use the ‘Q’ key to square up their corners when adding them. It makes drawing regular buildings a lot easier! Ta
Why have you deleted so many gates?
Hiya, what’s the source for the gill names here? I can’t find Cawder Wood Gill/Ghyll or Horse Close Gill/Ghyll in any of the stream name gazetteers.
Hiya. Why have you deleted so many gates? It seems a bit implausible they have all been removed since they were mapped.
Makes sense, thanks for the detail :) I’ve amended the tagging in changeset/153368764, let me know if it looks incorrect
Heya. way/1214769505 is currently tagged as a detached house (because that’s what it looked like to me on aerial imagery + cadastral parcels). Is it actually a terrace, or an apartment building? Ta
Heya, just as a quick suggestion, in case you’ve not come across it before: when out surveying shops, you might want to try using https://streetcomplete.app/, it makes it easy to update shop details. Only works on Android, not iPhone, though.
