Changeset When Comment

Hi Ali,

When removing closed businesses, it's better not to delete them entirely, but rather to leave the address in.

I have restored the restaurant:
changeset/59056894
and then removed the relevant tags from it to only leave the address:
changeset/59056916
Thanks for updating OSM!

Are you sure the North viewpoint is the Lower Falls?

There is another viewpoint south of there called "Lower Falls": node/1380549724

I have reverted this changeset and restored the original Spicy 6 node in changeset #57542826. Hopefully that matches what's on the ground. Otherwise, please let me know.

57530841

That's in the wrong location. The address doesn't match the location.

Unfortunately, MAPS.ME doesn't actually update the name of a shop correctly, it only adds a new "name:en" node with the new name.

What I do when I want to notice that a shop's name has changed is add a note via the "Detailed comment" field in MAPS.ME. That way, it can be fixed later by someone using a different editor.

I've fixed the name of Ice Hair in changeset/56908370.

Good catch! I've re-surveyed them both and updated them in changeset/56331691.

Are you sure about this Nexus Enrollment Center? It seems like a really odd place for one. I would expect it to be only at the airport.

Hey I noticed that you are adding a lot of new business entries.

I just wanted to point out two small things about the formatting of certain fields:

1. The telephone field needs to include the international calling code, which for Canada is "+1". So that would be "+1 778 ..." instead of just "778 ..."

2. The opening hours field uses semicolons (not commas) to separate different days. So "Mo-Th 09:00-17:00; Fri-Sun 12:00-16:00" instead of "Mo-Th 09:00-17:00, Fri-Sun 12:00-16:00".

Thanks for taking the time to contribute to OpenStreetMap!

Is way/40261254 a real trail? I wasn't able to find it when I was on the ground and the Strava heatmap is dark there: https://strava.github.io/iD/#background=none&map=16.84/-123.08943/49.37013

53513851

That's the easiest option I got when I asked on https://help.openstreetmap.org/questions/59755/how-to-tag-special-fire-hydrants-part-of-the-vancouver-dfps

53513851

I'll have to double-check the one on Broughton & Burnaby but all of the other ones are legit: one is a red hydrant with a ref, the other one is a blue hydrant part of the DFPS. It does look weird to have them side-by-side but that's where they put them :)

You can add a bare address in OsmAnd~ (by simply omitting the POI type and ignoring the warning) but you're right, I'm not sure you can remove one that's already set.

I usually set a favourite there to remind me to edit it later on the website, or I use MAPS.ME to edit the POI and flag it as closed (which will show up as a note on the map, e.g. note/1055703#map=16/49.2890/-123.1363&layers=N).

51154022

I usually avoid deleting shops entirely because it's nice to keep the address on the map. That doesn't change.

I restored the address in changeset/51157363

50989106

I don't think so. It's also not available in gnome-maps. I think you pretty much have to add a manual tag from the website.

Thanks for that contribution Luya!

Is "700" in this case the suite number?

If so, the right way to tag it would be:

addr.unit = 700
addr:housenumber = 725

See
addr=*#Detailed_subkeys

Hi Klaus, thanks for adding to the map!

I have found that the hotel you added is already here: way/305364816

Therefore I have remove the duplicate point.

If you find anything missing, please do add it.

I added this because the turn restrictions at that intersection don't apply to bicyles.

What's the correct way to add turn restrictions that don't cover bikes?

I have a cronjob which runs daily so I can find out about new stations and survey them in person :)

I went past that block today and I didn't see a Starbucks on that corner.
