Looks like you may be confused with highway=footway multipolygons. Right now you're using them as if you're mapping a large non-linear routing area. I think you're meaning to map them to show the area of the sidewalk, but that is tagged as "area:highway=footway" (and the sidewalk tag is left out).

Also, you should always still use linear ways for the actual sidewalk, otherwise routers can't use it.

Yeah, no, that's not how OSM works. You take responsibility for your mistakes. You created this mechanical edit in clear violation of the guidelines (unless there was a public post that I missed somewhere?), so you either need to revert it or fix all the broken ways you made because of it.
