Hello, I have reverted this change. The roads you deleted appear to be valid on the aerial imagery. If a road is not accessible to the public (physically or legally), then the proper access tags should be added, instead of deleting the ways.

Hi, thanks for the tip about the imagery! I started mapping landuse there just because it's NYC, and one would expect there to be good landuse data in the biggest city in the country. I haven't been touching the sidewalks, so I have those filtered out whenever I'm editing. I will try to use the state imagery instead of Bing since it's leaf-off and seems to have better alignment. Happy mapping, Steve

Hi, current community census suggests that "it is not a good idea to try to establish a 1:1 correspondence between OSM classifications and the state functional classifications. This will result in over-classification, with a high number of primary and secondary roads..." Please note that secondary highways should be for somewhat large streets (but not as big as primary) or roads that connect to other small towns.

Per the wiki, I wanted to point out that landuse=farmyard should only cover farm buildings, not surrounding animal enclosures/farmland/meadow. For example, way/1344352303 (added in this changeset) should not cover the grass areas that do not have buildings on them.

Oops, I didn't realize Vespucci didn't automatically do that. I will be more careful in the future.

In the US, the place tag does not correlate one-to-one with legal status for many reasons. Therefore, some unincorporated communities such as Indian Land are tagged "village" or "town" based on their population and local significance.

In the US, we do not tag places based on their legal classification. Rather, we consider the place's importance within the local and regional area. (If we did tag based on legal classification, nearly every place in Kansas would be a place=city, which is incorrect.)

Hi Truegodz15909, please do not add fictitious features to the map. I do not believe there is a such area known as "uyjuyjuyjy" or "cyracuse" within New York City.
