It depends from the zone. And the aerial imagery changes over years, with variable misalignements.
Without checking any survey points ("punti fiduciali e vertici IGM") the best way (for what we concern in OSM) is to check against GPX data, if the area is well covered.
In the area of Trappitello I can see bing and SITR overlap very well. And they match very well with GPS traces.
Usually in mountains/hills areas bing sucks.
SITR is more reliable.
Absolute precision is not important
SITR is easier to use. can be obsolete as bing can be

In these cases the english name is not different from the italian name. For example "Santa Maria Maggiore small marina" is not a name (it's a sort of description, name is the name only).
