According to AllTrails, the trail continues up the hill, along the ridge to the lookout, and then down to connect up by the water tanks.

No sign of the track branching south along the fence here. Just the track heading west, joining the footpath heading north.

Does the south branch of the track still exist further down and just not connect?

Spring Valley and this trail should be connected here, but routing avoids it
