Google maps and google streetview are not acceptable sources for OSM - there are a couple of street level imagery sources available in iD which you can use instead.

No worries. Welcome to OSM! For clarity, there is no concept of "private changes" on OSM, we are all working on one big map. There are other tools like uMap ( https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/en/ ) where you can record private data on top of OSM.

Sidewalks should be tagged as highway=footway + footway=sidewalk, not highway=pedestrian. More on the wiki: osm.wiki/Sidewalks#Sidewalk_as_separate_way

Hi scottiejibz, grassland on OSM normally doesn't apply to mowed/managed grass like this - it's probably better to use landuse=grass instead. Also, unless people refer to this as "Pioneer Hill Dog Park #2", it probably doesn't belong in the name tag. Take a look at the wiki: osm.wiki/Names#Names_are_not_for_descriptions

FM 685 is a route number, not a name. Leaving it unnamed is fine if there's not a local name for that portion, like Dessau Road to the south.
