I found a Mapillary source from 2017 that the street name is the same as in the government data. (It's not the most perfect recording, but the name appears.) I would like to ask you to check this information.

Hi lansion,
Adding the names in Finland according to the MML Background Map I noticed that you added a name for one street different from the name from the government data.
Checking Mapillary and KartaView I noticed that there is no GT.
Could I ask you to double check if the street should be named name=Nyåkersvägen as you added the name or if it should still be name=Uuspellontie

While adding the names of the streets according to the MML Background Map I noticed that you added the old street name which is the same as the current name.
But according to the data from the MML Background Map, that street is not called "Mustalahdentie", its name is "Kiurusuontie".
Could you please check these changes of yours further or if you agree I can make the change for name tag.

I added the name from the street before and after tunnel, it is possible that I accidentally selected that part.
Thanks for the point on this oversight of mine, I will pay more attention to things like this in the future.
I further checked the name information and found it to be Dalporten on Mapillary and returned that name.

Thanks for the clarification. Since we’ve seen a lot of possible misinterpretations, we’ve stopped adding different language names for now. If it’s ok with you, I, or some of my colleges may contact you directly in the future if we encounter any ambiguities regarding licensing or sources for OSM.

Hi Phil,

Apologies for not responding. We regularly always contact the community prior to any editing, but due to a small miscommunication this was not done on talk-gb. We are correcting this issue now and are also communicating with members of OSM Data Working Group to reformat and add any missing information on our editing.

When it comes to names, we’ve used Wikipedia information and various sources for additional checks. We’ve had some community comments and as of yesterday stopped adding any names at all.

@trigpoint I wanted to add different language names and mistakenly corrected wikidata. I see how some of the names can feel redundant having the same form. I reverted my changes so that they don’t make a confusion and will try to be more descriptive in my comments in the future.

@Richard I agree that UK boundaries can seem complex. It was not my intention to disrupt it in any way, but just to enrich it with additional information. I will refrain from adding any information to boundaries in the UK for now. As you mentioned, local knowledge is very important, so I will happily align my mapping to guidelines of the community. If you have some additional pointers or have recommendations on where to get more information, please let me know.
