Hi! Regarding way/1039494686 Halfway Creek RA.

Captured Mapillary imagery 23/9/22 and the service road and RA doesn't seem to exist. I note that the old Camps database has it listed as a stop. Is this planned or does traffic us the U turn bays? Have left Fixme's and no access.

Pretty sure I never directly covered the road with street imagery except the Newell Hwy end. My GPS history from 2016-22 also has no Croppa Creek transit. (still having Mapillary upload delays. GPS records may imply I made some other note)

The whole road was probably one way, that I split for unpaved/asphalt. It would be unusual for me to set "paved" rather than asphalt so I probably mouse fumbled. I agree that the current paved section at the Croppa Creek end should be unpaved.

Yes it does, an unusual construction.

There is a well used rest/parking area at the roadside with a (later) wire fence that cuts the usual "service road". The way you inquired on is an alternate access of sorts. Outback unpaved ways like this tend to be formed by road users and farmers, so it may be different now. There is also some Mapillary imagery if you'd like to see (the fence).

Yeah Maxar more often has the most recent imagery but I had also seen some political comments re sealing the whole length. I went out and looked anyway.

Hi Jason. Is Beach Rd now sealed all the way from Cowell to Port Gibbon? (like were you onsite?) If unknown I'll get out there in the next few days. I just set unpaved>asphalt from Maxar for most of it

Well, I am not sure the field is used for much. It is configured for cricket and has "H" rugby posts, but the cricket training nets are falling apart and there was a huge rent in the surface (burst water pipe) over two of my month apart visits. The whole reserve's big use is the large number of campers/travellers and as a social centre for the town. People even swim in the creek next to it where there is a picnic area of sorts. Very multipurpose!

Hi. Have changed the Minnipa Hall from a dance hall to community centre based on a drive past eyeball from oppo the church. If it really is a fulltime dance hall pls change it back. cheers

Sorry this is kind of lengthy.

I have in fact created a number of these. The issue of "no camping areas" came up in talk-au some time ago. The signs are visible on the Mapillary view and/or I saw it on person. (I live on the road)

Unlike it seems in other parts of the world the general view of Australians camping is "anywhere except expressly prohibited". This means that not only are there formal ones but there are many "on the ground" sites in all types of unusual places. One common type are road/creek/river crossings as the waterways are deemed as being "owned by government", even if they pass through a private cattle station. Small town community centres and showgrounds are also often word of mouth camping areas and some are prohibited. Many of these places do well from travellers financially, often by verbal agreement and a donation.

Given that population is getting more mobile I felt it necessary to have some way to list known exclusions that at the moment can be seen by current rendering. I don't have a solution, but needed some kind of place-holder until one can be found. You may note that the Operator is the sign authority and access is No in all cases.

It gets even more complicated by time/type limit as well. Roadside rest areas are also "known campsites" that generally allow 24 hours but only for vehicles. There are also waste management (black/grey water) type restrictions. It's all very messy and really needs a big talk-au discussions and non standard tagging.

Question. Is this section sealed? I note that it was marked as paved by MSOM some years ago but I recollect that funding had not been received and it was potholes! Maxar imagery seems unpaved.. Tnx

I might drive all the streets there Wed as I am going past, then check the lot. Eventually they'll be Mapillary images but big delay getting them uploaded. Cheers/thanks.

Gday. Glencoe Street is asphalt, not unpaved last time I looked. Has it been ripped up? If not are you okay me changing?

Just a headsup/info in case it affects a database of yours. The "Way has been simplified with a maximum error criterion of 3m" change has sometimes pushed streams away from associated bridges. I have changed the stream route in a few cases to match DCS topo and align to bridge.

Really needs a re-survey. It was/is a spectator/stand rather than a simple shelter, but I remember it was a real dangerous mess. I also see some upgrade/repair funding has been allocated for the showground generally. Have changed fixme's accordingly

Just an inquisitive question. Why the footpath way around the farm? I just drove past (street imagery) and was checking the road signage/surface. Cheers
