It could have been that StreetComplete showed me the wrong highway, it meaning the road, me understanding it as the sidewalk, because there was some re-drawing done recently, and SC hasn't updated its maps.

I removed very few historic tags. Very few. I mostly changed historic=PROPER_NAME_IN_CHINESE to something more fitting like historic=house or historic=temple and put whatever was the value for historic into either name= or osm.wiki/Tag:description=.

It's only updated once a day, I think.
Isn't there a way in JOSM to show the history of a feature?

I'm going through the pages of https://taginfo.openstreetmap.org/keys/historic#values, sorted by value, mostly translating what's in the value and decide what historic key applies or - starting on the last page - changing the dates in the historic value to start_value. There were fixmes on most of them, but they don't seem to lead to any changes.

The use of historic=* for a number or date is not correct, start_date is the preferrred key in such a case.

Please don't use the year in the historic key, move it into start_date instead. The historic key is for categorizing the historic feature.

could you check the use of the key "historic" here, because whatever the meaning of ""Deceptive Bends\" cf album by 10cc" is, it does not belong in the historic value

Whoever added all those historic keys, please have a look at the wiki. It is used for categories of historic features,not as a description or for dating. Pls use "description" and "start_date" instead.

I was absolutely 100% sure there was an approved tag, but now I cannot find it on the wiki. How very strange. I even made a video about how to map them a year ago, and I usually only do them with some sort of back-up on the wiki.
