Changeset When Comment

Hi,
I've reviewed your changesets as you requested. I'm not sure how you made the decisions that you did when moving around the boundary for Bear Brook State Park? You've made it look less like the map that you cited (do you have permission to copy that by the way?), and it also doesn't line up with the property lines visible in aerial imagery. Do you have some other source like data from a circumambulation that you were using?

Sincerely,
aweech

Hi,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thank you for your contributions! I've reviewed your edits, as you requested, and I made a few adjustments in the area. You had added some descriptions like "(Unkept looks abandoned)" to some name tags. We have a description tag for that sort of thing, and the name tag is for names. I ended up using the information in there and in your comments to improve or remove the ways. Thanks again!

Hi,
Yes, there's a bunch of reasons that unclassified works better here. Mostly because there's like 2 residences on it and most travelers with a destination on this road would be visiting the sanctuary. Also it's a through-road and it makes a pretty decent way to detour around Sharon center and not have too many cars around you (if you don't mind the hill!). I couldn't find a posted speed limit, which means it's probably the state default of 40 mph, not exactly residential speeds.

Yeah, I picked minor/unclassified for that portion of 300 South because it looks like a low speed road but the only stop sign along that stretch is at Center. If you think that tertiary would work better, then go for it! It's definitely borderline between tertiary and unclassified.

Ugh, I had been checking for fragments before creating new relations, but I missed that one. Also, it's the old one that has NH in the ref, not the one I made. I'll go ahead and delete the incomplete and mistagged one tonight.

I didn't realize that Millcreek put in grade-separated cycleways here! Do you know how long ago it was? Last I heard the idea was controversial, but I guess they must have went for it.

Hi,
Why did you remove the information that bicyclists have to dismount and walk on this bridge? Did the city change it this winter? I haven't been over there since the fall.

There's literally an asphalt path visible in both the street level imagery and aerial imagery that goes most of the way to the path along the railbed (which is on private property itself by the way). And there's a privacy barrier between the backyard for lot B-3104 and the unpaved part of the path. The path from Lojko Drive existed for at least 5 years, way more than "never", and it likely still exists.

Ways can exist on private property as well. Since you didn't say that the landowners demolished the asphalt path, I'll add it back with proper tags.

Hi,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap! I reviewed your edit, as you requested, and it looks like this building was demolished when the traffic circle was built.

117690060

Hi,
I'm a bit confused by this edit. What is that path off of Lojko Drive then? Or was it demolished recently?

Hi,
Welcome to OpenStreetMap, and thank you for your contributions! I went ahead and moved the station to the new building.

Hi,
I see that in this changeset you deleted all of the turn lane information on Main Street. Is there as reason for that or was it an oversight?

Hi,
In this edit you removed a perfectly good Class VI road. Does the town of Newport intend to discontinue it next month or something?

Hi,
I think it might be jumping the gun to change SR 36 to primary. In the meeting that we had last week, there was interest in tagging that and SR 73 as trunk, although we still need to discuss more. Also Pine Canyon Road surely isn't highway=residential since it connects the Lincoln area to the Walmart and hospital area.

Hi,
I reviewed your edit, as you requested. You added the name of the business to a disused runway at the old airport, and I don't think that was your intention. To create a new business, press the "Point" button and put the point where the business is. Then type in "Social Facility", and then in the "Type" field select group_home and in the "People Served" field type veterans.

Hi,
In this edit you deleted a large chunk of the Sun River Parkway. Please be careful as you are editing the map to not remove features like that. The parkway was in two parts, so that's twice in one edit that you accidentally hit the delete button with a major feature selected.

I've been thinking about it, and I think it'd be best to bring it up at the meeting next week for a synchronous discussion. It is tricky how the northbound traffic out of downtown splits into thirds. I don't know if Martijn already invited you, but, in case he hasn't, he's organizing a discussion session so we can hash out a more organize approach and some of the particulars like this, SR 12, the Timp Highway, and other places. https://www.meetup.com/OpenStreetMap-Utah/events/283188005/

I found this changeset from OSMCha doing my daily reviews; I am very familiar with the tools to visualize changesets. Perhaps the thing you're confused about is when I said that this is a bus stop, not a store? I had assumed that MapRoulette brought you here due to your changeset comment and that you had unthinkingly accepted its recommended change, as so many people do. Maybe you went outside the bounds of the challenge to make the naming error. I did say further up the chain that the error was in changing the name to "Burlington", not the amenity type. My apologies that my language confused you.

I did look that up and considered changing it to that, but I decided that the original mapper would have had a reason for spelling it that way, maybe even a survey. Of course, most MTA bus stops don't have posted names or numbers at all, even designated stops like this one, so the best thing to do is probably remove the name altogether.
