La Soufrière Volcano erupted on April 9th 2021 spewing ash plumes into the air. The explosive event has caused thousands of residents to be displaced and evacuated from the island. All residents have been affected by clouds of ash blanketing the streets and their homes. Ash has also reached to many of the neighboring islands. Drinking water has been contaminated and air quality conditions compromised. La Soufrière has erupted at least 3 times since then and is expected to continue activity in the upcoming weeks.
