There won't be a dispute. I am not strongly in favor of a particular tagging method. I merely wanted to point out that highway=path + footway=crossing is not correct.

I do agree that highway=footway and bicycle=yes can be a bit messy, and while "any tag you like" is allowed, it is usually recommended to use established tags, and one needs to check how the new tags affect different editors / viewers.

Are there well-established alternatives to highway=footway, footway=crossing, bicycle=dismount?

On a more general note, I am not sure the global community agrees that highway=path equals highway=footway + bicycle=yes.

A footway is mainly for people, it may or may not allow bikes. A path is generic.

The way crossings are tagged (they are mainly footways) exemplifies this. there is a footway=crossing tag but no path=crossing tag.

I am referring to highway=crossing nodes linked with a way which has both highway=footway and footway=crossing. After your edits, the way now has highway=path, footway=crossing which is invalid tagging. See: footway=crossing

This has occurred in older bulk edits too. I think you simply need to exclude ways that also carry footway=crossing or that are connected to highway=crossing nodes.

Take a look at the main streets in Daliat el carmel for instance. most crossings were affected.

As discussed earlier, these edits seem to be bad for crossings.

I have confirmed there are bugs in certain cases. This includes this, from the latest update: node/1803036633

I will not run further gtfs updates until I fix the issue.

When moving a stop a small distance (e.g. to the other side of the road), the ref and name tag probably don't need changing.

You moved a stop which has a name "road X" to a road called "road Y". Furthermore, you kept the older "ref" tags. Since you know the place, I suggest the following:

If you are sure a stop does not exist, it is safe to entirely remove it.

If you think a stop is in the wrong place, I would suggest moving the stop, but you need to be careful: Every stop has a number and a name. Both can be found on the yellow signpost next to the stop. The number is called "ref" in OSM. When moving a stop, especially a large distance, it is best to make sure the "ref" and the "name" are correct. Possibly by visiting the place and looking at the yellow sign.

Or you could simply remove the "ref" and the "name" and then move the stop to the right place, hoping others fill the missing data later.

At this point you don't need to do anything because your shop is on the map. For future edits though: The changeset comment is meant for other mappers. So it should bee something like "Added a dentist shop in al rena".
