Does this path run on the field margin (looks like it from aerial imagery)? Hedges/fences would help a lot round here.

This site is a) no longer a hospital; b) called The Wilson. I worked here in 1991 when most of the buildings were offices for the then District Health Authority (Merton & Sutton). There may have been some health functions on site: it certainly sustained a canteen which suggested more people on site than just the DHA staff. Lost Hospitals of London (http://www.ezitis.myzen.co.uk/wilson.html) suggests that it currently hosts a range of clinical services, so amenity=clinic is probably more appropriate.
