I double checked in Secor and the UTM location can point to either one but the description makes it sound like the way you have it mapped is correct:

"The south side of the pass consists of slabs that lead to the northern base of Matthes Crest."

Secor describes Wilts Col as being directly between peak 7 and 8, where Echo Pass (currently) located. do you think Wilts Col and Echo Pass are one and the same?

should be fixed by changeset/129662865#map=15/37.8349/-119.8433

the problem in this area is mostly due to NHD flowlines imported as waterways. many (most?) of these should be deleted but it's a ton of work to clean up an area. Yosemite is much better than Inyo NF in this regard.

the 1994 USGS quads are a better reference for waterways, they're not always correct but they're pretty good. in this case there is no waterway on the USGS quad. the trail however does get wet... just no running or standing water to deal with, at least in my experience.

the times I've been through this section of trail, even in wet years like 2017 and 2019, this was definitely not a ford... but I haven't been back in a while. has this changed?

that sounds normal, the cabins are put up for the summer only. pretty much just a canvas tent with a temporary floor on the permanent foundation.

elevations are in meters, not feet, can you fix it up?

is Bearpaw in bad enough shape to tag is as abandoned? the HSCs in Yosemite have been closed for some similar reasons (high snow years, covid) for quite a while too but they're being maintained. just haven't been through Bearpaw since the fire

I removed the extra campground area in changeset/115444484 as this is not standard and there is already a relation covering the campground relation/3170026

I fixed the Yuba Gap Lodgepole campground tagging (this changeset removed the camp_site tag) but I'm wondering what way/1009708593 is for... it's a lot bigger than the campgrounds and it's not using standard tagging. Happy to help fix it.
