Hi Paparobzzi,
thanks for your edits. Just a small thing: the name tag on building is not for descriptive information but for the actual name e.g. Empire State Building. Also the patio and pool area does not look to me like a building, but more like leisure=outdoor_seating ?

Otherwise great work!

Hi,
sorry what is going on in this changeset? You changed parking lot to park and then made a service road cross (twice) a golf course building.

Great job!
Just don't forget that street names should not be abbreviated. e.g. Rd -> Road

Hi,
any reason for deleting golf course grounds area?

Hi ogrategames and thanks for your contribution.

I just have to correct you that this is not how we map roads/paths. The correct way is to draw a single line along the center of the paved area as you can already see at the parking area.

Second issue is that when mapping green and fairway areas those should not overlap. Please see this section in documentation: leisure=golf_course#Common_mapping_pitfalls

Thanks for the fixes!
Just this seems a bit off ;) way/945650594

Yeah.. we had extensive discussions about this on Slack. The outcome was that the landowners should contact devs of the app or map and ask them to use access=private/no tag. (some like Gaia already are). If we just adapt our mapping to the apps this will only encourage them to further ignore our tagging.

Having those roads/paths could help in emergency situations or just improve general sense of orientation. Plus there is already tons of stuff in OSM that is not always accessible for everyone... private houses, backyard swimming pools, military compounds.. It is always up to each person to respect warnings and restrictions in real world and not just go somewhere because navigation sent them there.

Hi,
those those type of trails or roads we can tag as access=private or access=no

Hi,
Sorry but this is not how we map roads. They are just single line along the centre of the area. Look around in the surrounding area where it will be more clear.
Best,

Thanks for the reply!
If it is as you say a closed complex then I guess you are right and more appropriate would be highway=service (without undefined service=parking_lot_road tag).

So if I understood correctly these service roads don't have official name (as on a road sign), but every building in the complex has address 380 Hitchcock Rd?
Then the correct way is to create a node at the place where the building is and fill out the address there e.g.:
addr:housenumber=380
addr:street=Hitchcock Road
addr:unit=3D

addr=*

Hi,
thanks for the edit, just for the next time. You can't move road like that because then you also change the shape of the roads/objects connected to it (e.g. East Street).
You have to disconnect it first -> move -> reconnect.
(Also you moved it on top of existing road)

Fixed here: changeset/105380662

Hi and thank for contributing. Just a few things.

1) Is the official name of those roads 380 Hitchcock Road?
2) service=parking_isle is indeed a correct tag. service=parking_lot_road is not used.
3) Is there any reason to change residential roads to service roads?

Hi,
is there a particular reason to remove school ground including information such as address and phone number?

105112730

Wow really nice job with those landuse/lancovers!

Hi Jack,
before you go into bigger reclassification try contacting Brian (@ZeLonewolf) or check #local-us-northeast on Slack. There is an initiative to unify roads classification in US (draft: osm.wiki/United_States/Highway_classification) you might be a good person to be a CT representative on this.
