Hi and welcome to OSM!
Just a comments to your edits. When removing businesses please leave the address intact. The address typically stays and is reused for a new business that will come after.

Cheers

Hi, no problem you're doing good.
When editing you just select the library point. Then on the left side scroll down through the Edit Feature panel until you reach the table with all tags. Click on "+" to add new tag. Into first field type "ref" and into the second field type the number e.g. "37246'.

Then remove the "Charter #150569" from the name.

The actual names that you mentioned are good to stay in the "name" field, but I think the street names should just be removed since that is not their real name.

Hi and thanks for contributing to OSM!
I think you did a good job, the only issue I see here are the names. e.g. "Quaker Ln S Little Free Library Charter #37246" Those seem to me like a descriptions rather their actual names. These should be removed.
Perhaps if the number is a reference number or id then that can be moved to the "ref" tag e.g. ref=37246

Cheers

Unfortunately, the node is not added automatically. I believe the purpose is to interconnect the sidewalk and road networks in order to make them routable. If the sidewalk does not share a node with a road then routing software can't give you directions accurately.

"Marked" mean that there are markings painted on the road, but there are no traffic signals. You can find more info on osm wiki: crossing=*

Thanks for catching that!

Hi Casey,
just a bit of feedback on these sidewalks.

1) When a sidewalk crosses a road (highway crossing) it needs to share a node with the road. We also typically tag it as highway=crossing.
see: node/5052106351

2) The sidewalks you drew are not very accurate. When drawing, try closely following the aerial imagery and place the nodes along the sidewalk centerline. Try also including more nodes as well. Particularly in curves so the shape is more smooth instead of being jagged.

Hi,
I know what you mean, but as far as I know the general agreement is that these segments are necessary for waterway network connectivity. Sometimes the can be tagged as waterway=flowline
waterway=flowline

That's true, could also be permissive.

Hey! You are doing a great job Zack! I really appreciate the patience you put into drawing these land covers.

Just in this case I saw that the lakes were supposed to be part of the Wildlife area, but not a part of the forest. And the only way was to re-draw the wood polygon.

Also at this point you are doing quite advanced stuff. Might we worth for you to look into using JOSM instead of iD.

Hi and Welcome to OSM!

If you enjoy adding new streams then I recommend switching background imagery to LiDAR terrain. There you will be able to see streams clearly even through a thick vegetation.
Just press B and and select "CT ECO Shaded Relief (2023)".

Hi,
Thanks for adding the building!
I went ahead and improved the shape to better reflect the reality.

Hi,
All seems good. The only thing I found is that I am not sure if the high voltage and low voltage lines share this pole:

Hi,
This looks like a quite dramatic reclassification. Would you mind contacting jnighan (@jnighan) so the both of you could sort out if this is in line with the highway classification guideline?

Easiest way to map the crane seems to be to draw a single area encompassing all the rail for moving and tagging:
abandoned:man_made=crane
crane:type=gantry_crane
crane:mobile=rail

For the proving grounds, I would only draw area around actual visible remains of objects. And tag perhaps with historic=military.

It's fine if you don't have time for micro-mapping of cuttings and embarkments, but there should not be ways tagged as abandoned railway. The railway is simply not there any more.

Hi Ktr101, I agree with all the complaints here. Parking lot is not a historic ruin, crane is not a railway, embarkments and cuttings are also not a railway.
IMO the solution should be to revert this changeset and the features that are still present should be then mapped correctly.

Hey,
I think that looks all good. I also changed the road to service, because it seemed to me that the building at the end of it is not a family house.

Nice. Thanks for the info!

Hi,
are these sections newly built?
way/1361840455
way/1361840456

They don't show on imagery from 2023.

Hi and welcome to OSM!
Perhaps you could draw that part as an area along it's true boundaries instead of placing there just a node.
Also there is dedicated tag for that leisure=dog_park that specify that this is a park for dogs.
You can even add some restrictions about the dogs weight or age. See here for more details: leisure=dog_park

Nice job, thanks for adding the sanctuary!
Per OSM definition it is not considered park, but a nature reserve. I went ahead and updated the tag.
