This newly-mapped pedestrian area is a bit... optimistic.

It isn't nearly this big, and there are large planters at the north and south ends that take up most of the space. The only area that resembles an open pedestrian area is right in front of the escalators and the southwest corner.

This is not public access. Endangered species are present in the marsh area. Please do not trespass. I do not know how to remove all the footway feature that is to the north but Army Corps of Engineers and the State Coastal Conservancy are working to prevent public access and restore native plants in the area.
