| 117354971 | “what's the source of this name (Best Life Road)?” Seems that the dubious name was added in v7, changeset/56449899 , and was merely modified in this set. |

| 115991882 | Only just noticed that this set also added tagging. collection_times uses a specific syntax, the same as for opening_hours (details in the wiki). This is in order for it to be machine-readable (for software auto-magic). This is more of an FYI now, since I remedied it during my survey: see changeset/117395574 |

| 117029707 | “Change Wikimedia flag URLs of European states to 'https'” Why? Ultimately you're addressing a client-side problem by altering data. That's what HSTS and HTTPS Everywhere are for. The /^https/ is a pseudo-protocol, after all. /^http[^s]/ is more robust & future-proof (when encryption is done using the default port, over the same original connection, to preserve more port numbers (closer to 2¹⁶ for other uses (instead of 2⁸, because each protocol demands 2)).
You're also defeating caching for a resource which is ideal for caching. So, I don't see anything being gained by this changeset. Worse, the bbox is nebulous. Would've been much better to change each nation individually. That would enable separate discussions. |
|
| 117056434 | It also would've been better to split your changes into different sets per island. |
|
| 117056434 | Source? What was the rationale for changing way/617367554 ? From memory of last time I was at Portelet, while it's certainly tidal, it's still more of a beach than natural=sand (based on reading the wiki). I recall being able to walk to the islet at low-tide.
Seems that a survey would be good. |

| 116948247 | [Following on from discussion in changeset/116431437 ] Ah, I didn't even think of the possibility of marking it as abandoned. Good idea 👍. Though, from reading the wiki & querying TagInfo, abandoned=highway (especially combined with highway=*) is uncommon (~200 instances) compared to abandoned:highway=* (~50,000 instances). Though, I'm unfamiliar, having not tagged anything as abandoned, before. I presume there's a good reason for favouring abandoned=highway(?) |

| 116431437 | Thanks for the pointer to that history review tool. Didn't know about that one 🙂. For future (easier) navigation: changeset/116948247 |

Glad to help. Thanks for giving my island some much needed attention. There's only a few locals contributing, and a vast amount yet to do. |
