Strava global heatmap suggests a network of trails other than the forest roads in this area, with a likely trailhead on Rivers Road. Do these trails really exist? If so, they need mapping.

The original name of this small valley within the East Fork of the Jemez River watershed, was called "Vallecitos de los Indios". That place name is visible as early as the 1880s on USGS maps. "Sierra de los Pinos" was a name given to this housing subdivision within Sandoval County sometime after 1960.
