You seem to have imported and to be using area=20881 rather than area=yes or no.

Is it possible to clean it up? Change area to description perhaps?

It's a toss up between zapping them and leaving them. I'd be inclined to zap them otherwise someone else might follow your example especially one of the paid mappers. Either way it's not life threatening.

Both Esri and Bing appear to show buildings where the highway=residential are and do not appear to show a grid for the highways. Perhaps you could check.

I have noticed a number of settlements in Sudan that have a grid of highway=residential optimistically imposed on them.

The landuse residential seems three times the area of the settlement.

Some residential highways appear to be straight but the imagery suggest it isn't.

A group of buildings could possibly be called a settlement rather than lots of isolated buildings grouped together?
