Hi Paul,
Good to hear from you. I’ve been very aware that I’m back in your territory :). If ever you are unhappy with anything I do please feel free to revert/change/get in touch.
I think you might live in that area - it’s a nice part of the world isn’t it. I will be back up there wandering on the paths quite a lot in the next month or two (but not in the next two weeks - we’re going to Spain) and if you fancy meeting up for a coffee/beer do get in touch. Regular mappers like us are a rare breed and it would be good to chat.
Cheers
John

:) Well spotted Andy. Thanks. I’ll put it in now. Need to go and have a walk around the bit where it goes round Meadowhall before I can finish off the last corner. Thanks again. J

Thanks Tom. I’m afraid it was only a walk through with friends - not a proper survey - so I only improved a few paths. To be honest you keep the footpaths in your area well mapped. I wish it was as good up here around Sheffield. :)

Hi mrpacmanmap. Thanks for updating the Kelham Island boundary. I guess it follows the historic course of the mill race. The mill race now runs due east from the opening on Millsands to join the Don there. Would it be possible to detach the watercourse from the relation and put its current course on the map. Cheers. Yes. We haven’t really got a proper story from Katy have we. When I come across blocked public footpaths here in Sheffield I show the path as far as it goes and put a No Exit tag on the node on the end where it is blocked. I then send a photo and info to the Ramblers.
A lot of my family and friends are keen Viewranger/Strava/Komoot users and blame me when the footpath map is wrong :) That’s what happened when Katy came back from Hutton Roof. But in this case, yes, do put the path back on.
Again, good to hear from you gurglypipe.
Cheers

Hi gurglypipe. Good to hear from you. Sorry about my very vague changeset comments. My daughter who is a keen OSM user is just back from a running/cycling trip to the Hutton Roof area. She was dismayed by the number of mapped paths that didn’t exist on the ground. She is normally very reliable so I have made a few map edits based on her survey/runs.

Hi arte2002
Thanks for that. Yes, using PNOA Espana it’s clear that my original mapping of the path was correct. Glad you noticed! I would be very pleased if you could revert my changeset.
Thanks again.

Hi Tom. Nice to hear from you. It was good to meet at the mappers pub meet - it was in Derby I think. I am missing those meets. Hope all is well with you in Wirksworth.
I tagged the building as craft=brewery so that the brewery was searchable on OSM. The principal tag on the node is shop=alcohol which would make it discoverable if you were searching for an off licence but not if you were searching for “brewery”. I feel that the shop and the brewery are separate, different things that need tagging separately. However, having said all that, I’ve just looked at peak ales web site and I’m not sure if that building has either a shop or the brewery in it any more 😄. It seems to be some sort of visitors centre. I think one of us needs to visit it. :)
In the meantime if you feel strongly about it do change the tagging on any of my mapping. I don’t mind. :)
Hope to meet at the pub again sometime.
Cheers

PS Don’t hesitate to change any of my mapping that you think is wrong. I don’t mind at all. You don’t need to let me know. :)

Yes. I’ve removed it. Thanks both.

Thanks for that Dave. I must have just seen the start of that conversation about platforms being footways but missed the final conclusion. :)
