I have reverted this changeset because the wood and highways are clearly visible on aerial imagery

Hi SamuraiArmada,
It looks like you're doing some good work adding to the map here. A tip when drawing buildings: use the "Square" function to make the corners right-angles. You can do this on a whole building at once if all the corners are right-angles or individual corners if not.

Happy mapping!

Hi Russlad, welcome to OpenStreetMap! Just because a path is on private property or impassable doesn't mean they shouldn't be mapped. These are both Public Rights of Way (PRoW) and are clearly signed as such (visible on Bing Streetside) so anything preventing access here should be reported to the Council.

As for all the other highways you have deleted in your other changesets, there are methods of indicating private access (e.g. access=private )

What happened to Puzzle Woods?

Have the University of South Wales *really* taken over this car park? This latest Mapillary imagery from just three weeks ago clearly shows it's still an NCP car park - https://www.mapillary.com/app/?pKey=1616380892316503&focus=photo

Hi lukethesamo,
It looks like you've added random letters in parentheses to the end of most of the building names across the university - what do they mean? If they are some kind of internal reference then I think the ref=* tag may be a better place for these.

Secondly a tip when drawing new buildings: if the corners are right-angles use the "Square" tool (right-click, or keyboard shortcut Q). This can be done for an individual corner or for the whole building at once.

Happy mapping,
Jez

Hi Iwerne, welcome to OpenStreetMap! I just wanted to check whether you have permission to copy that information into OSM. I know that postcodes (but not addresses) from Royal Mail are OK, but don't know about Bristol's Pinpoint map. It looks like Bristol Council do have a lot of open datasets, but I cannot see one relating to addresses.

If you do not have permission, there other sources available online which are allowed to be used e.g. out-of copyright OS maps. Although an on-the-ground survey is always best if you can!

Happy mapping,
Jez

Hi Beacon2025, welcome to OSM. Just wondering why have you deleted this school? It looks like it is still open. I have reverted this edit with changeset/159020585

Hi, I see you've deleted The Shrape breakwater and re-drawn the coastline around it and I'm wondering why you did that? I don't have any local knowledge of this area but looking at OS OpenMap Local, this breakwater has not been included as part of the coastline since the October 2017 release, so I think it should be separate.

Hi Jack, Thank you for your contributions but unfortunately we cannot use google street view as a source for editing OpenStreetMap as it is strictly against their terms of use. Any edits based on GSV will need to be reverted unless there is another valid source that we do have permission to use.

I see there are 11 changesets where you have referenced GSV as well as Bing and local knowledge (which are OK) at the same time - some of which involved deleting other people's work. To what extent can your edits be replicated without using forbidden content from GSV?

Regards,
Jez

Thank you for your timely addition! I had no idea what it was from Bing Streetside when I was adjusting the sewage works boundary earlier this week. I have now excluded this from the sewage works area.

Hi Joseph-97,
You're doing some good work adding to the map! Here's a few tips for adding buildings:
- First, when aligning aerial imagery, use the "OSMUK Cadastral Parcels" overlay (scroll down the Background Settings list). This is the best way of ensuring consistency across the UK.
- Second, after drawing the building outline at roof level, it should be moved to match the location at ground level.
- If you delete what's there and start again from scratch (as you have done here), be sure to add back relevant tags that were on the original building.

Happy mapping!

Hi Satotiga, I think Rialto Court is all one building, not five separate buldings as you have mapped it. See Bing Streetside: the roofs of the different sections are all at different heights, so building:part may be appropriate here.

Sorry, I meant Rupert.

Hi Robert, this is not Aldi. I can't remember off the top of my head what shops are here now, but Aldi built a brand new building (and substation) adjacent to this one.

Hi Joseph-97, are you sure this footpath has been removed? It is quite hard to see on Esri imagery, but if it has definitely gone how do you safely access the bus stop now?

Hi Bird Soup, this pharmacy is still open - just not a Lloyds branded one. I would imagine that many of the 174 (so far) pharmacies you have changed to disused:pharmacy are still open too under another name/brand. I suggest this should be discussed on the Talk-GB mailing list. osm.wiki/Automated_Edits_code_of_conduct
