This path no longer exists (as far as I could see today, Aug 24). Perhaps it has been covered during logging, but there didn't appear to be an easy way to cut across at the point indicated on this map.

There is a Forestry and Land Scotland sign here calling the site Merkland Wood. But the wood polygon is named Cnocan Wood. Unsure if these refer to the same wood, or to two separate woods that need splitting? (Do we have a way of finding out from OSM-compatible sources? Need to check old maps etc.)

There's a road through this wood from Old Station Court down to the houses that have just been added (thanks!)

This footbridge does not currently (22/23) exist. There is no safe / dry way to cross. There is a notice to this effect near Morton Reservoir but none where the path starts just west of this point.
