Thanks for the information. I understand now that this is a very special case.
I changed the tag to highway=bus_stop a few days ago, now I am unsure what to do.
I guess the best would be to remove the highway=bus_stop tag and only keep the node?

sorry for the late reaction, I was offline for a while. Before I started changing the ways with the highway=residential_link I searched for any hint when it should be used and only
found a discussion in a german forum which came to the conclusion that minor roads don't have link roads. I am not sure if my translation is 100% correct, but also OSM Inspector and the renderer of osm.org don't seem to "like" this tag.
I just read the posts in the list and found no comment which says that my change is wrong, but of course I can revert it if you want me to do that.

okay, thanks for the feedback.
I don't feel like a newly-converted, but
yes, I am eager to reduce the number of
(now) ambigious tags ;-)

please review:
the tag
highway=residential_link should not be used,
the *_link tag is only useful for major roads.
Does this way really exist ?

@pascal_cyclist:
Just to make sure:
way/368900734
You have deleted this way again. I am not a local, so I have no idea if that way exists and how it looks like.
I just tried to point out that the tag highway=tour should not be used
for any way.

please review:
some ways have the invalid tag
highway=primary;residential
now.

prima, danke für die Rückmeldung

thanks for the quick feedback. The easiest way is to look at the history of the way:
way/82253108/history
Use the attributes of the way before your change

please review:
the tag highway=residential_link is not
useful, it should be just residential.
But is the road already built?

please help me to understand:
why do you map a "virtual" way?
Sample:

please review: do you still think that a waterway=weir should also be mapped
as a highway=stepping_stones ?
I know the tag ford=stepping_stones,
but this doesn't seem to fit either.

I think you accidently changed the ways to highway=give_way, see

Do you think that this might also match here?

bitte prüfen: Ich vermute, da ist was schiefgegangen. Ein highway=moving_walkway wäre ein Laufband.

please review: The tag highway=towpath
is only used here, it should not be used for a normal path which is also used as a towpath.

As these ways are not connected to any other highway I've changed the highway=towpath to a note for now.

@Alex3271:
The tag highway=tour is rarely used,
if you know better what it is, please change it. The word tour doesn't mention the vehicle. I assume it is a highway=path,bicycle=yes,foot=yes ?
The same tag is used here
