| 58358281 | Hi there. What are these features you've been tagging as post offices? |
|
| 58302544 | There are concerns about this changeset. The international convention is to specify a general religion tag for places of worship, and the accepted convention in the Philippines is that the Iglesia ni Cristo is a Christian church, the denomination differentiates it against other Christian churches. If you are new to OpenStreetMap, try out this page for some helpful tips and tricks: https://telegra.ph/Awesome-OSM-Tips--Tricks-01-28 There's are a number of community channels you can try for assistance: https://telegra.ph/OpenStreetMap-LoCo-channels-in-the-Philippines-02-15

| 57991152 | I'm using the refreshed Bing imagery here, and the odd angle was due to a segment I missed. It's been fixed. Thanks for the catch. |

| 58054876 | You should check out this maps.me fork:
Edges are rough, but it dropped all commercial links from the original. |
|
| 58054876 | Was testing whether maps.me users get notifications for changesets they make on the app. Did you? |
|
| 58054876 | what's "IDESS"? |

| 58166218 | Hello @erLyn16. I recently noticed your contributions to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Thank you! Kudos for using OpenStreetMap's to create a better map of your community. As you may know, your edit is immediately live in the main OSM (read it like "awesome" 😉) website as soon as they've been saved to the database, although other apps (e.g. OsmAnd, MagicEarth, Maps.Me, etc.) may take a few weeks (or months) to refresh their copies unless you do a manual update yourself. I noticed that you're adding feature names that are all capitalized. The convention is to simply use title case, (e.g. "Mang Martin" and not "MANG MARTIN"). For now, I fixed your earlier edits for you, but do try to avoid that in the future. When you have a few minutes to spare, try the browser-based editor called iD, to edit the map of your community. You may find it quicker and easier if you need to update a lot of information on the map. There's this concise tips page for Philippine contributors: https://telegra.ph/Awesome-OSM-Tips--Tricks-01-28 Also, find out the latest happenings, or interact with local contributors through these community channels: https://telegra.ph/OpenStreetMap-LoCo-channels-in-the-Philippines-02-15 If you have any questions at all, please feel free to get in touch. You might be doubtful about a particular tag, or would like to clarify their use. Or perhaps, you have ideas you want to flesh out to improve your neighbourhood map. Or maybe just want to know more about OSM. Welcome and best regards, in behalf of the OSM contributors' community

| 56410293 | Just call me GOwin, Paul. I want you to know that I'm glad to see you actively mapping your favorite neighbourhoodsin OSM. Next time you're in Manila,or if you still are, let me know if we can meet-up to chat about maps, with like-minded volunteers here. |

| 57703348 | And their address rank is now the same. I don't remember the same behavior from before. Thank you for pointing that out. So now that makes them the same - but different. 😸 How would you differentiate their use now? |

| 58100616 | Hi @TagaSanPedroAko. I agree with you about the importance of this road, hence DPWH's "national tertiary" designation, which makes it an important local road. However, I disagree that a "secondary" OSM tag makes this a "minor" road, but that's how the current convention makes it appear to be - and that's why we should I've been looking at how other communities are tagging their roads more consistently, like: osm.org/go/TZMHdHh-?layers=H. This brings to mind a conversation with another contributor: these road tag classifications are not significant as road connectivity (and traffic data) for real-time routing engines. Anyway, these road tags has been reverted for now. |

| 57703348 | Thanks for chiming in, @Seav. Well, the downside to landuse=residential is that they don't get indexed by Nominatim, or by Photon. Ideally, we shouldn't use landuse for individual settlements, but to identify all homogenous residential areas instead. |
|
| 57703348 | When tagging settlements, kindly use place=village for barangay administrative settlements, following OSM conventions. For gated communities kindly use place=neighbourhood. |
|
| 58080167 | Hi @El Ae. Are these water taps or the usual fire hydrants that you've been adding in this area? |
|
| 56410293 | Parking (or no parking areas) are designated using parking:lane=* Barriers are normally attached to other objects, to indicate restriction or impediment to movement. Tagging linear ways with just :
is not conventional, and has no meaning for routing engines. Also check out : parking:condition=* |

When "tagging" features (i.e. classifying objects), please try to use the appropriate tag (a school, a bank, an ATM) instead of randomly selecting other tags. Also use Notes or comments, to bookmark features, or you risk losing those "bookmarks" when other mappers edit them if they don't reflect real world features. | 56771109 | Hi again. If you want to add the names of streets, the easiest would be the iD editor, if you have a computer On mobile devices, you can try the Vespucci editor, which isn't as easy as iD, but works well enough. See http://vespucci.io/ Please avoid using other object types (like guest houses, or bakeries) to mark street names. You'd be better off using notes or comments for that. I do appreciate how you're making your best effort to supply missing information on the map. Thank you. /GOwin |
