The leisure=pitch tag is to define the 'white lines' of a playing area. This area is clearly for multiple sports & should therefore be tagged as a recreation ground.

Ah, the iD editor. Please don't assume it's the be all & end all. There are many tags not included in it.

Also don't assume its validation checking is correct. For instance it flags any train station, including miniature tourists ones as 'public transport'.
