May I ask where oyu obtain the references from for all the grass areas?
Are they just assigned by school for maintenance purposes?

In OSM the name tag is usually reserved for official assignment, such as the school's name. For your additions, ref is the preferred tag.

The map would get a bit crowded if it rendered every named object.

Please explain how my voluntary contributions to improving the OSM database have been performed "without consideration of each change."?

As I've used at least three pieces of 'official' software in series, knowingly & intentionally restricted the search area to England, Wales & Scotland, knowingly & intentionally restricted the search criteria to three tag keys, & further restricted the value tag of one of those keys to four values, please explain how this is an automatic edit.

Please clarify what theses "one scheme" & "other scheme" are? You're not clear.

In what way are you claiming this edit reduces the quality of the OSM database?

Some seem v. close to the fairway as is they're rough areas.

landuse=grass

The landuse of golf features is 'golf' not grass.
To distinguish any differences the 'surface' tag should be used.

golf=* are a specific sport subset of leisure=pitch.
The tag to distinguish it's playing finish is 'surface'
leisure=pitch
