Gate locked with chain and padlock. Encountered this on 21/07/2018 on recumbent trike and found to be impassable! It was better to stay on the B6355 when heading NW.

There is a car park, tourist information signage including maps of The Hermitage and also a seasonal ice cream van here, where all trips up The Hermitage begin.

This road should not be shown to be joined to the others to the east. A high wooden fence that runs parallel to the path to the SE separates it.
