My best guess is the name came from a historical map. Back before the era of numbered state and US routes, long-distance routes were named. "Sunset Highway" was the primary Spokane-to-Seattle route.

In the United States, the GNIS import (itself a bad idea) brought in many different types of water-storage objects as "landuse=reservoir". Those need to be properly sorted out, not blindly re-tagged.
