Hi there, and thanks a lot for your contribution! 🌟 Just a little tip for future edits: keeping changesets small and local can make things smoother for everyone. It helps prevent conflicts, makes it easier for fellow mappers to review, and keeps the map even more accurate.

A few friendly suggestions: • Focus edits within a small geographical area (like a single city, district, or province) • Try not to mix far-apart locations in one changeset • Save/upload before starting work in a totally different area

If you’re curious, the wiki explains more here: osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets

Thanks again for your mapping energy, and happy mapping! 🗺️

Why is it important to remind both new and experienced users to keep changesets limited to a specific area? First of all, not all editors can handle loading large amounts of data, as happens with iD (link). More importantly, a large bounding box (covering, for example, half the world or all of Northern Italy) makes it harder for other mappers—both local and remote—to review the changes, even when using modern tools like Better OSM or OsmCha.

I agree with you that the wiki doesn’t specify any strict rule about changeset size. In my view, the main issue with your changeset wasn’t the number of edits, but that it included modifications in two different cities (and provinces).

I’m not sure who complained about too many small changesets, but personally I think it’s better to keep one changeset per city, even if it contains a lot of edits. In your case, the cities aren’t very large, so a changeset like yours wouldn’t be too big or too small, it seems perfectly acceptable, even if it modifies all the websites at once. For larger cities, I might split it into smaller changesets, though.

It would be helpful to provide a more detailed description of your changeset. This makes it easier for other mappers to review and verify your work. 😉

Ciao! Grazie per il contributo! 🌟

Hi there, and thanks for your contribution! 🌟

Just a friendly tip: it would be better if edits were focused on a smaller geographic area, like Schio or Castelfranco, rather than mixing distant locations in the same changeset. This helps prevent conflicts, makes it easier for fellow mappers to review, and keeps the map accurate.

Since this seems to be a bot, you might consider adjusting its settings to split edits by area, so each changeset stays local and easier to manage.

Hi, thanks for your contribution, but be careful, you have edited things in Thailand and things in the USA. So your Changeset area is huge and doesn't follow the guidelines 😊osm.wiki/Changeset#Geographical_size_of_changesets

@Le_Sharkoïste
Your continued sarcastic replies make it clear you're not interested in discussing mapping guidelines, but only in provoking.

I won’t engage further here, but I want it to be on record that I tried to explain myself clearly and respectfully.

Mocking other mappers for following OSM documentation helps no one.
