Thanks for pointing out. I will fix it shortly.

It is useful to alway specify a source of your data in the changeset and also add comment.

Anyway, is data from vouna.gr allowed to be used for OSM?

Hello. What is the source of this data?

Please translate and read https://www.skgeodesy.sk/sk/ugkk/geodezia-kartografia/standardizacia-geografickeho-nazvoslovia/nazvy-geografickych-objektov-z-uzemia-mimo-sr/

We are actually obligated to use that source according to the law about cartography.

Hello Habi.

See osm.wiki/WikiProject_Slovakia/Sources

141875795

We have it at osm.wiki/WikiProject_Slovakia/Sources. Maybe somebody could link it there. I am not sure how to do it properly.

141875795

Yes, it is OK for OSM, we have an explicit agreement and use it already for several years in Slovakia.

Olaf, I have removed it. If somebody has a better source then I think it should be mapped to OSM.

Olaf, please be polite here, your language doesn't fulfill discussion guidelines.

Hi Galbinus. I think that mountain ranges should be mapped in OSM. Many are mapped as a single node, which tells absolutely nothing about their shape or size. See discussion at osm.wiki/Talk:Tag:natural%3Dmountain_range. I can remove the region tag and only keep natural=mountain_range. I also tagged ways with undocumented fuzzy=yes tag, but used around the world.

Hi. I will try to find a better source or revert my changes.

I also think if name "Cumbrian Mountains" exists, even if it is rare, it should be possible to use it for searching (geocoding) in the map. Feel free to put it to loc_name or so. Same for Slovak name "Kumbrické vrchy" ("vrchy" means hills, but can be used also to refer mounain range).

140995480

According to wikipedia:
- The Lake District, is a mountainous region and national park
- its mountains are sometimes called the Cumbrian Mountains

So form ne these seems to be two different entities.

I understand that The Lake District is a common name that refers the park including mountains and that the term "Cumbrian Mountains", which only refers to the mountains, is rarely used. But still it exists.

Then I propose to change name="Cumbrian Mountains" to local_name="Cumbrian Mountains" or to remove the "name" tag completely and only leave "name:sk". The name should belong to mountains and not to the lake.

I have the name "Kumbrické vrchy" from Slovak authority of foreign names.
