I just completed the portion of N-75 Murree Expressway and its Jhika Gali link road. So now the new alternate way to Murree is on OSM :)

I saw the first few changes I've made to OSM appear on the main map today! Yay! I added some walking tracks and foothpaths around my suburb, as well as fixing up a few street names. Time to go out and get more data now. :)

I'm going to try and knock off more of Brisbane Forest Park today. It's probably going to take an hour or so just to walk to a unmapped area first!

HAbs nun begriffen - wenigstens die einfachsten Dinge. Versuche mal Strassen einzugeben und zu benennen und zu klassiern. Hier gibt es wohl noch Differenzen zwischen den "Kartografen"...

Einige Brücken waren noch nicht eingezeichnet. Die Namen habe ich jetzt nicht dazugeschrieben.

Feels like Columbus to draw new my little town roads (almost incomplete yet) in there.

Made for the first time real use of the validator plugin to verify my hometown, Gent, Belgium. I discovered that it's very easy to forget to add bridges to new streets. There were 300+ warnings of crossing ways... Not completely unlogical, as Gent does have a lot of water.

I ran into trouble though. There is motorway that is on a very long viaduct. I gave it bridge=yes and layer=1 for the whole stretch, but the validator keeps coming up with warnings about it. any ideas?

Other than that, it's lovely to have time to map again and make some little cleanup progress.

Auf dem Weg von Sontra nach Hersfeld habe ich gleich noch die Landstraße über Nentershausen / Bebra nach Bad Hersfeld eingezeichnet. Sowie Bushaltestellen und diverse Straßen innerhalb Bad Hersfeld. Bad Hersfeld ist eigentlich nicht so mein Bereich, da ich da nicht mehr wohne. Aber da ich mich da ganz gut auskenne und mal da war, hab ich mal einiges eingezeichnet. Dort muss abe rnoch viel gemacht werden, da fehlen viele Straßen! In Sontra bin ich da schon weiter, ist aber auch kleiner ;-)

Die zweispurigen Schnellstraßen und Kreisel in Hersfeld sehen im Editor ja schlimm aus, muss man die so zeichnen?

I've been a bit remiss in my mapping. Partially due to being on holiday. I'm still working around the tracks, after that I'll fill in some areas (playing fields and the like). Hopefully at the weekend...

I had a great time at State of the Map conference. Met lots of people. Lots of presentations and conversations which were thought provoking and educational. I also learned that if you drink too much guiness your poo goes very dark.

I've barely recovered from that, and already it's time for another meet-up. Tonight we're doing a Stratford Mapping Evening. That's revisiting the same area we were at on June 4th. On that old event page, I've put some "before and after" maps, and some visualisations using itoworld.com (very easy on-the-fly generated images which Peterito gave a talk on).

Es gibt bekanntlich zwei Städte mit dem Namen Oldenburg: Oldenburg in Holstein und Oldenburg in Oldenburg.

Oldenburg in Oldenburg ist allerdings zweimal als "town" eingetragen: einmal am Marktplatz und einmal zwischen Pferdemarkt und Lappan.

So schön die Stadt auch ist, so gibt es dennoch keinen Bedarf für zwei verschiedene Bezeichnungen auf der Karte. Eine davon sollte zur "city" umgewandelt werden, denn Oldenburg ist eine Großstadt mit über 100.000 Einwohnern.

Wilhelmshaven gibt es übrigens auch zweimal.

Habe heute mal das Gut Rocholz und einige benachbarte Straßen aufgenommen. Auf dem Rückweg wurden zusätzlich noch im "Bäumeviertel" einige Straßen getaggt.

Ah, a lot of improvements have taken place the last few days. A few minutes ago, I finished the shoreline of Hönö. That was a tough one.

...and PHWAP! Ways everywhere!

I got back from my holliday a week ago and have since ridden 50km around Mullumbimby. It's not 100% yet as there's a few streets to the SW which are a bit hilly (up around the Hospital and Cemetary) but it's much more complete than it was.

Now all I need is internet access that's not behing a password'ed proxy so I can upload the changes.

Oh, and why aren't the waterway=river ways not rendering? *grumbles*.

Just added the trace of the main road.

Now the rest of the tracks, roads, paths, points,... can be added.
