I've organised a micro-mapping session in Leeds for this Sunday.

It's been organised through WYLUG but anyone can join in, WYLUGer or non-WYLUGer.

We're meeting at Becketts Bank (Wetherspoons) on Park Row, Leeds at 2pm on 24th Feb 2008 and I expect it to last until 5pm-6pm-ish.

Full details can be found at http://www.wylug.org.uk/2008/02/wylug-social-and-openstreetmap-session-sunday-24th-february-2008/

Чудех му се 2 месеца на това кръстовище и накрая се престраших да го направя. В събота след 2 часа мъки и чудене успях да го направя. Само се надявам да съм го направил правилно. През половината тунели никога не съм минавал...

My first edit - woo!

I added both Mitford Road and Simpson Grove but John's got the © on Simpson because he joined it to Hall Road afterwards.

Am finding JOSM to be a PITA and am off to see if I can get some guidance from some more experienced people on IRC. Failing that, I'll just collect some traces and fill them in after we have the OSM session on Sunday.

Which reminds me I need to organise that...

I've just started mapping the Torbay area in South Devon which previously was extremely sparse lacking even the main A roads.

I have an old Etrex Legend and have been using that on a bike mount to combine some exercise with collecting map data. I'm a Linux user and have been using gpsbabel together with a shell script from this site to pull the data from the Etrex which seems to be working great. So far I've mapped in most of the main roads and am then going to work out from where I live in Paignton.

Last week I bought a Holux M-1200 bluetooth GPS receiver which I hope to use with my Windows Mobile PDA (Acer N300). I've spent the last week loading various bits of PDA software trying to find the right one for me. The N300 has a VGA resolution screen which looks great but a lot of the software doesn't work properly with it.

Currently TrekBuddy looks good so I'll be trying that out over the next few weeks.

Any mapping help much appreciated.

I think I can say that I've completed the vehicular roads (ut not cycle or foot paths) for all of Armidale township that's north and east of the railway line. There are still some of the southern and south-western edges that I need to survey. These parts of town are not commonly visited by me so I need to make a special trip(s) to complete them.

I'm getting there!

[There are still some internal roads to map on the University of New England campus but that can wait until the current road-works there have been completed].

Got EventLogger installed on my TomTom and went for a test drive with louisa_parry. Things look ok except it seems to be logging only every 5 seconds even though I set it to 1 second. I'll sort that out.

Uploaded a couple of roads and changed a few bits. JOSM takes a while to get used to. Will try using it as the gps recorder next with my USB gps widget.

I've split out some of the information relating to Scotland from WikiProject United Kingdom to WikiProject Scotland.

The list of towns on the towns on the main UK page is getting a little unwieldy. Perhapses it is an idea to split into smaller sub-page areas - size depending on the level of activity in the area?

Also there are plans for an informal pub meetup in Glasgow on Monday 25th @ The Counting House from around 7pm.

Been naming the streets in Halswell today that were on the map and updating some of them. There are a lot from new streets subdivisions that are not on the Yahoo overlay so a mapping trip in the bike will be needed to confirm some details. This will be in March when my GPS arrives.
