Tänään oli tylsä päivä, joten pakkasin poikani autoon ja lähdettiin käymään Rengossa. Kyseesä on siis vuodesta 2009 eteenpäin yksi uuden Hämeenlinnan vanhimpia "kyliä"

48km jälkeä ja siitä 24km uutta tietä.

Samoten on pitkin kesää tullut suhattua fillarilla pitkin puistoja ja pyöräteitä. mm. tuo Hml-Parola-Aulanko -lenkki

Joku oli jo kerran aiemmin pyöristämäni Aulangontien mennyt raiskaamaan käyttäen ilmeisesti Josm:n simplifyä. Nyt siellä on ihan kiva note tiellä:

Went for a walk with my trusty Garmin GPS 60, to add more street names and detials on the western end of Canning Town. Seeing as there is a planned mapping session for Canning Town, and seeing that during the week I am currently working in Reading (so can't get back from work in time for it unfortunately), I thought it might be helpful for people if I added a bit more detail to make their task hopefully a bit easier.

Still loads to do, and there are lots of small alleyways that need mapping, as well as some of the larger tower blocks and other residential blocks, but any little helps.

Some of the roads in Canning Town that have been traced on by people are definitely wrong, but I don't want to mess things up by modifying other people's work. Additionally, some roads are no longer as long as they used to be due to recent building work (Victoria Dock Road, Huntingdon Street). I've walked around Huntingdon Street, so that's now the right length, but not yet had chance to amend Victoria Dock Road.

The new arsenal football ground Emirates Stadium feels like it is practically on my doorstep. It isn't. But it feels like it is because it's so frickin' big. I'd always meant to wander over there and take a closer look, but so far hadn't quite found the occasion to do so. Until...

I realised that it wasn't on the map! A whole ginormous stadium... Missing! It isn't showing up on Yahoo imagery, because it's too new. So I guess nobody's done any real surveying work in the area, until I got up early this morning, left my girlfriend at the gym while I went on brisk walk around the area. Bagged a whole load of unnamed streets, and a sixty-thousand seater stadium. Not bad for a quick morning stroll!

I wasn't able to get a GPS trace around the base of the building because it was fenced off (and generally deserted), so I've just had a guess at the building's outline (oval shape) based on rough photo views and a cheeky glance at a map on a stadium signpost.

For some weeks ago I noticed that a road (way 13523361) suddenly had become an administrative boundary with germany on the left side. I also noticed that the change had been added by a user "anonymous".

Today I noticed that the entire eastcost line of denmark (eg. way 4120237), from the german/danish border and up to tha danish city Kolding, had benne tagged the same way as administrative boundary with germany on the left side. And again it was added by a user anonymous.

Can anybody explan what is happening ?

I did my first GPX upload this evening! It was an emotion to see my afternoon track traced on OpenStreetMaps...
It was a big satisfaction to have my Tom Tom One XL (version 6.590) working and recording GPX data: a big thank to amacri (amacri@tiscali.it) for his good work with Event_Logger (I installed version 8.1).
My first test track was recorded in Turin (I found a fine place on the Po river bank!), but on holiday I plan to improve the OpenStreetMap coverage around my native town in the south of Italy: Caposele!

I'm now uploading more GPS tracks..
Unfortunately as i lost the GPS device when i was in white rock, i lost all the tracks from Vancouver island. .. so its from north Vancouver and down to white rock and to Abbotsford.
Then to Cultus lake... then to Sasquatch pp, as i didn't do the Trans Canada trail from there.. as i heard it was a super big climb and would take a while. ... so i took the side road into hope.

.. I remember alot of the details so i should be able to add in some points and trails, from whats not done already.

... Im hoping that more users will be adding to this site, as there are a few other GPS track sharing sites.. but this is the one that should be used as it would be wild if it could show vertical profiles and have a front end even more user friendly :) ... in time. .. and hey, it's wiki. .. so i cant complain. .. if i don't like it.. i can take initiative and find a solution. .. which i am working on :)
