Ich hab mir 2008-06 einen GPS Logger zugelegt, weil ich öfters mit dem MTB am Bisamberg unterwegs bin, und IMHO die zur Verfügung stehenden Informationen für Besucher nicht hinreichend sind. (Flyer, Übersichtskarten, Beschilderung)

Deshalb hab ich begonnen, per MTB speziell die Wege am Bisamberg zu erkunden und GPS Tracks zu sammeln. Diese möchte ich in das OpenStreetMap Projekt integrieren und somit eine detaillierte Karte zum Radfahren und Wandern erstellen.

Fixed a small bug in the Berlin cycle route RR1 around Dahlem-Dorf: It doesn't go along Archivstraße but along Domäne Dahlem, and both directions pass west of Dahlem Dorf station. There were also a couple of oneway tags missing along U3.

Oh, and I really like the new data layer.

Adding these in from memory of routes I use regularly and know (and love?).
So that's the 68, 315, 249, 196.

Trying to ensure I get the complete route so there is little chance of there being two networks, starting from either end (Ugh! How nasty would that be?).

Did a few roads in and around Redland Bay. Also added some rivers/creeks.

Ich fühle mich nach wenigen Tagen Erfahrung schon nicht mehr als absoluter Neuling in OSM. Meinen Heimatort Metterich habe ich schon komplett erfasst, sogar mit einigen Zusatzinformationen.

Mir scheint, daß es bei Dir noch ein kleines Mißverständnis gibt. Das Einzeichnen von Straßen oder anderen Dingen ist immer von Hand durchzuführen. Die aufgezeichneten Tracks sollen lediglich sicherstellen, daß auch alles am richtigen Ort eingezeichnet wird.

Bzgl. Trackaufzeichnung von Navis kann ich Dir nicht sonderlich viel sagen. Ich denke mal, daß diese Funktion von fast allen Herstellern angeboten wird.

Aus Deiner Frage schließe ich, daß du noch kein Navi hast. Dann mußt Du Dir erstmal klarwerden welche Art GPS Empfänger Du möchtest. Das Aufzeichnen von Tracks für OSM in Ortschaften geht sicherlich am besten zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad (abgesehen vom Abfahren von Autobahnen oder größeren Straßen oder längerer Strecken). Deswegen kam für mich nur ein GPS Gerät in Frage, was klein und handlich ist. Außerdem sollte es als Fahrradtacho dienen, d.h. es sollte auf dem Fahrrad montierbar sein. Das alles erfüllt mein Garmin eTrex Vista HCx.

Es bietet auch Navigationsfunktionen, aber durch den kleinen Bildschirm ist es dafür im Auto oder auf dem Motorrad nicht optimal. Das war aber auch nicht meine Hauptmotivation.

Started mapping Tunbridge Wells, Kent recently, which currently has very little detail in OSM. Started in the north end, and Southborough is now mostly done. Used a yellow etrex on my bike early Sunday morning. Lovely time to go out for a ride.

First diary post, this is mostly rambles but hopefully someone might like reading it.

While on hollidays in Victoria I decided to do as much mapping as I could during my everyday travels. On the first day all the streets in Port Albert were mapped, along with the park, boatramp, toilets and the old port walking trail. Food and fuel is yet to be mapped.

A couple of days later I went up to the Tarra-Bulga National park and did the all the "touristy" walks around there (the suspension bridge, fern gully walk etc). The longer fire trails such as the Wild Cherry Trail, the old Balook to Yarram road and Diaper Track are best done by someone on 2 wheels (or 4WD where allowed, wild cherry is in the park and behind a locked gate, balook to yarram rd and diaper track can be driven on West of Bulga Road).

The Tarra Valley walk was also attempted, but GPS reception is shocking along the walk, even my Legend HCx had more error then the size of the track! But an attempt at the map was made anyway, the picnic tables and toilets are there, even if they're 50m off. In the process a good trace of Tarra Valley Road was collected either way.

Other roads mapped included Bulga Road, Lower Carrajung Lower Road, Kees Rd and Napier Rd in Won Wron State Forest (we collected firewood, I took the GPS).

The town of Yarram is half-done, I did ~90% of the roads on the West of the main street and ~20% of those right of the main road. This was an exercise in using photo-logging which worked rather well.

I just posted my tracks of doing this walk, i see that someone else has started it, so thats great.
This walkway, in some sections is rather wide, so i think its best just to estimate until there is other points for reference.

I also uploaded the Mount Douglas gpx file, as i walk upto the top. I lost satalite reception on the way up and down, so again i think its some estimating there...
This time i wont erase my underlay tracks.

I think iĺl make the tracks public though, as that would help other people..

I also posted a tim hortons. Point. .. I did a wiki search about it, thats how i know. ..
Im thinking that especially for the wikiproject canada, that a clearer discription on how things should be posted. .. like a full directory, that would help.

oday, I traced a bit around Coolgrainey and Arklow, first on a motorbike or long country roads, the arriving home I realized I still had plenty of space to store trcacklog on my old Garmin 40, so I took my bicycle for a tour around the house. The weather was eventually reat, after 2 weeks of really unsettled rain !
